Dear Viewers,
Or should I say Dear Santa?! Whimsical December, how nice of you to join us this time of year!  The rainy and cool days in San Francisco have been gorgeous. I don’t mean to be quaintly cliché, but there is something about the holidays that brings warmth and happiness. It’s like right after Thanksgiving day, everyone is figuring out where to get the best Christmas light deals and the cheapest place to get a Christmas tree. It gets nutso! I for one adore Christmas time, the lights, the music, the yummy seasonal treats, holiday décor and especially the monumental Christmas tree in Union Square. Forget, “there is no place like home”, ahm; “there is no place like Union Square during the holiday's”! You can quote me on that one.  Union Square is predominately a touristy area in San Francisco, so make sure not to get bombarded by foreign amateur photographers.  Like many other native northern Californian’s it has been a tradition of mine since I was younger to experience Union Square extravaganza.  I used to think that the christmas tree was redundantly ginormous. It stands at 83 feet tall, so compared to little ol me (four foot nothing) it is still massive. If I could make one small suggestion, no pun intended, the best time to experience Union Square is in the evening. For the obvious reason that everything is lit up, and that is when the magic happens and you fall in love with San Francisco even more than you already have. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to take these photos at a later time to show you all exactly how much potential this experience has to offer. I was also expecting rain, darn weather forecast! I was fully prepared with my umbrella and rain booties. Either way I love my booties and I found a what you can call a weak, muddy, water puddle to splash around in.  Next post I will make sure to include and evening photo, so those who don’t live in California can see what I am talking about. Although it is great to be outside all bundled up with a nice cup a joe, it is also holiday appropriate to stay inside where it is nice, cozy and warm. I don’t mean you necessarily need to be home, just not out in the freezing cold. The Stanford Theater in Palo Alto is where I chose to relax get cozy and spend my evening with a friend. I had heard about the theater and how they premier classic films. It was a rainy night and my friend and I decided while enduring our Sprinkles gluten free red velvet cupcake, that we were going to pay a visit to the Stanford theater. After establishing our plans, we gobbled our cupcake and headed to the theater. It was the perfect night. The movie of choice was 100 Men and a Girl; we were running a few minutes late so I wasn’t able to get a picture in front of the theater while it was still lit up. Sorry about that, but you can still get the vintage feel that you are looking at an older fashioned theater house, without the lights.  The movie was marvelous and dramatically hilarious. I told the ticket clerk that it was a pleasure being a guest and that they should expect to see my friend and I more often. They were delighted! There is still so much more adventures to come, like I said before, I love the holidays and I enjoy sharing my experiences with you all.  Between work and finals week, I will still manage to post a second December feature! Stay warm and be a part of the holiday activities. I would also say, buy yourself a scarf, beanie and a jacket or two, because viewers it’s cold outside. Wink*

Ciao!
